From high tech companies like RIM Research in Motion (maker of the BlackBerry), ATS Automation Tooling Systems and automotive giants such as TMMC Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, ThyssenKrupp Budd Canada and BF Goodrich, to financial giants such as Manulife Financial Canadian Operations and Sunlife Financial/Clarica, this community is a dynamic blend of technology, advanced manufacturing and business/financial services.

Canada’s Technology Triangle is located in southwestern Ontario, on the western side of Toronto and less one hour from Canada’s largest airport, Lester B. Pearson International. Situated on Highway 401, Canada’s superhighway network, the area provides exceptional access to markets. The Region of Waterloo International Airport provides domestic and international flights.

From 1996-2001, Canada's Technology Triangle grew 8.2%. The median population age is one of the lowest in Canada. In 2003, CTT's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was worth $18.6 billion, larger than several Canadian provinces.
